Emmerdale's Jamie Tate injured in car crash carnage before dramatic showdown

Jamie Tate arrives in the village with a bang in next week's Emmerdale.

The newcomer heads for an interview at the vets, completely unaware that scheming Kim Tate is trying to secure him a job.

Rhona tells a delighted Kim that her son is coming for an interview, but Paddy is furious when he discovers Jamie's identity.

Paddy and Vanessa are fuming, but Rhona manages to persuade them to give Jamie an opportunity.

There is no sympathy when Jamie falls at the first hurdle and fails to turn up for his interview - but he leaves a voicemail apologising for his absence.

Jamie is still very keen on the position but disaster strikes when he arrives in the village.

Kim's son is involved in a horrific car crash that leaves Eric Pollard fighting for his life.

Megan takes her eyes off the road to text Frank and smashes into the back of Jamie's car, which in turn knocks down Eric.

The newbie gets out of his car and collapses onto the road clutching his chest.

Luckily, Manpreet is passing by and is able to give medical advise to traumatised Jamie.

He soon discovers that Kim has been pulling some strings behind-the-scenes.

Jamie reluctantly heads up to Home Farm to demand for his keys back.

Meddling Kim, who is determined to build a relationship with her son, plays innocent.

The villain pretends she doesn't know where his keys are and offers to help find them, but is secrelty determined to spend time with her son.

Will Kim's plan to build bridges work?

*Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7am with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm
