Emmerdale's Glynis Hardy actress set for new soap role in Coronation Street

A former Emmerdale favourite is joining Coronation Street for a major new storyline.

Christine Cox, known to Emmerdale fans as Glynis Hardy, will soon swap Yorkshire for the cobbled streets of Corrie. Christine played Glynis between 2001 and 2005.

Glynis briefly had an affair with Eric Pollard before being outed in public by Eric’s furious partner Gloria (Janice McKenzie). She later returned to Emmerdale and attempted to have another affair with Pollard although he declined her advances.

As we know, soapland is a small place with stars regularly switching between shows. Fans of Coronation Street will see Christine introduced as a new character connected to character’s Stu Carpenter’s ongoing storyline. We will see Christine play Margaret Lennox who is the wife of bent copper DI Lennox.

As Corrie viewers know, DI Lennox treated Stu badly during the initial aftermath of Charlie’s murder, broke interviewing rules. He would pull Stu’s chair if he fell asleep and even gave him a sandwich that had previously been thrown on the floor.

It’s unknown whether Margaret will be a help or a hindrance in Stu’s investigation.
