Emmerdale's Ellis Chapman returns to show after Asan N'Jie sacking

Emmerdale's Ellis Chapman is set to return to screens next week as actor Aaron Anthony takes over the role from Asan N'Jie.

Show bosses announced last month that Ellis had been recast and that the character would be making a comeback as he returns from Dubai.

The character was written out of the hit soap after Asan N'Jie was sacked following a brawl at the TV Choice Awards.

However Ellis' scenes still continued to air in following weeks and he began to build a close relationship with Belle Dingle before going off-screen.

But when Ellis' half-brother Billy became concerned on how close he was getting to their evil dad Al, he arranged for mum Jessie to send him out to Dubai where she'd gotten him a job at her school.

Fast forward a few months since he left and Ellis returns to the village and Aaron is stepping in for the role.

In scenes to be aired, there'll be more conflict between Al and Billy as Al wastes little time in accusing Billy of not pulling his weight. But Ellis comes to the rescue and intervenes.

Meanwhile, Belle is not pleased that Ellis didn't tell her he was coming back.

It's clear there are big plans for Ellis as he makes his return to the Dales and it'll be interesting for fans to see what the future holds for him.

*Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm
