Emmerdale's Danny Miller reveals baby name with touching meaning behind it

Emmerdale star Danny Miller and his fiance Steph Jones have revealed they have named their baby boy Albert.

The soap star who is best known for his portrayal of Aaron Dingle in the ITV soap has said he has always liked the name but for his long-term partner Steph the name had a very special meaning.

The couple picked the name Albert for their first born as a touching tribute to Steph's late grandad.

Danny said: "‘I’ve loved the name from when I was a kid, Steph’s granddad was called Albert but when we were in school I just knew him as Steph’s granddad, so when I suggested it, I didn’t know it was her granddad’s name."

In an exclusive interview with OK! magazine, the 30-year-old opened up about the moment Albert was born, he said: "I think it was just the anticipation of waiting for nine months to meet them and then finally being able to say that the baby is here and he’s safe and sound.

"It’s made me much more in love with Steph, too. I was absolutely in awe of her and we’re absolutely in awe of him.

"He’s only been here a couple of weeks and I don’t know what I’d do without him. When he arrived I just ending up staring at him for five hours straight."

Danny first revealed the exciting news of his sons arrival on Instagram almost two weeks ago.

He shared the exciting news with a sweet snap of the newborn's hand in his and his fiancee Steph's alongside a wooden plaque that read "Hello World."

The proud new dad captioned the snap: "I was lucky enough to find someone who shines bright enough to lead me out of the dark, but I never imagined to be lead to the brightest place imaginable."

Fiance Steph commented: "I never realised the happiness a child brings you."

"Thank you @danny_b_miller for showing me true happiness and being the best support imaginable!"

Danny replied: "I am in absolute awe of you and our beautiful baby! Thank you for completing my life and I promise I’ll look after you both and love you both forever."
