Emmerdale's Danny Miller breaks down in tears as he quits show

Danny Miller broke down in tears as he bid farewell to Emmerdale.

The 30-year-old star is currently competing in this season of I'm A Celebrity and confirmed last month he was quitting the soap to pursue new career opportunities.

The actor's 13-year stint as Aaron Dingle came to an end in last night's show as he drove away from the Yorkshire Dales after struggling to cope with the death of his partner, Ben Tucker.

Danny was visibly upset in a video filmed after his last scenes which was shared on his Instagram account following yesterday's episode.

The caption said: "As you may be aware Danny has made some life changing decisions this year. But the biggest decision he made came in the decision to leave Emmerdale.

The post continued: "Over the past 13 years Emmerdale has been like a second home to Danny.

"Having grown up with Aaron we have all cried, laughed, felt his heartbreak and sadness as Danny has portrayed some of the shows toughest storylines and I hope you agree he has done them justice."

It continued: "Cast and crew have become like a second family to Danny and as the video says he can’t thank them enough, but most importantly he would like to thank Aaron fans for sharing the journey with Danny and Aaron for all these years. And here’s hoping we see Danny back on our screens soon after the show doing what he loves most.

"Goodbye for now Aaron Dingle."

Stars from the soap world flooded the comments to say how much they will miss the actor from the show.

Isobel Steele said: "I love you so much"

Ash Palmisciano added: "You will be so missed mate! Such a talented geezer!! And well done for being yourself in the castle mate!! smashing it x"

Lawrence Robb posted: "Cracker of a human, and an absolute joy to work with. Fly Danny! FLY!!"

Charley Webb commented: " I won’t miss you cause I’m not there but I’m lucky to call you a friend."

Coronation Street's Sacha Parkinson said: "You’re a star "

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITVHub with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm
