Emmerdale's Charley Webb shares sweet birthday tribute to screen mum Emma Atkins

Charley Webb has hailed her screen mum Emma Atkins, in a sweet birthday tribute on Instagram.

Emmerdale star Emma, who plays feisty Charity Dingle in the ITV soap, celebrated her 46th birthday on March 31 and Charley, who plays Charity's daughter Debbie Dingle, has shared a gorgeous pic of them both together.

The pair have found filming opportunities together on the Yorkshire based soap have been thin on the ground in recent months, as the soap's producers push ahead amid strict coronavirus restrictions.

So, to mark Emma's birthday, Charley shared a snap of the pair together, as they pose cheek-to-cheek for a joyous selfie.

Charley pined for a time when they can go out together again, captioning the pic: "Can’t wait to be able to get dressed up and dance all night. Love you more than basically everything (have to be nice on her birthday @missemmaatkins )"

The photo certainly generated a lot of love for the pair, with one writing: "What a stunning picture of you both!"

Another echoed that, commenting: "What a lovely picture"

While a third added: "How dare you both be so beautiful AND talented."

Throughout the national lockdown, Charley has documented her trials and tribulations of being a parent to three children with husband Matthew Wolfenden, during the national lockdown.

The 33-year-old actress had previously described one-year-old Ace as "feral" as he seemingly grows in confidence with his own abilities.

She said on her Instagram Story last week: "The most common answer for my ridiculously, ridiculous small human child was to ignore him when he starts smacking or throwing."

Charley continued: "Also, I'm not sure if I have said but he doesn't just do it in temper, he just does it.

"It's not like he only does it when he's really frustrated, just like, you know, he will just come up to you and whack you one.

"Or he'll just walk past his toys and just fling them on the floor. He just does it, I don't know, anyway we just choose to ignore him but we all have to be on the same page."

Charley added: "I'm not sure that Bowie is going to ignore him when he whacks him around the face.

"Just going to have to see if he grows out of it, and if not, we'll sell him."

Just in case her fans thought she was being serious, Charley clarified: "That's obviously a joke."
