Emmerdale's Charley Webb defended by fans after being 'skinny-shamed' in dancing video

Fans of Emmerdale's Charley Webb have been forced to hit back at trolls after the star received criticism over her body. The actress, who played Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap from 2002 to 2021, was flooded with comments on Instagram about her weight after sharing a video dancing with a friend.

The mum-of-three had posted a series of snaps from over the bank holiday which she celebrated with friends and family. The 35-year-old shared one clip of herself dancing to Beyoncé's hit Drunk In Love as she said the weekend was a 'beautiful chaos'.

However, despite appearing to having fun and showcasing her moves, Charley's fans had to step in to defend herself after trolls took over the comment section.

The actress sported a long black sweater paired with black tights and a pair of tanned shoes as she sang into a hairbrush, while her brunette hair was swept up into a bun, reports The Mirror.

But one follower commented: "Looks like those legs could snap any minute," as a second added: "Charley you are gorgeous..but you’re all skin and bone."

"Fab but frighteningly thin," commented a third.

However, Charley's fans were quick to defend the star from the insulting comments, with one replying: "Like my nanna used to say, if you've got nowt nice to say then keep your trap shut.

"Looks like @miss_charleywebb is having a ton of fun and loving life with her family and friends too me."

A second commented: "So... Posts a video having fun, she's 'too thin'; posts ads, too many ads; potentially puts weight on, must be pregnant; pics of kids, shouldn't expose them; no pics, 'where've you gone'!! Is it any wonder people feel they can do no right?"

Charley appeared to agree with this comment as she replied: "Innit," alongside a peace emoji.

The upload comes after Charley revealed to fans that she was shutting down her business as she struggled to devote her full attention to the venture.

The actress was working with her husband Matthew Wolfenden and his brother David on the company Nordi Babi which they launched in 2020.

Opening up to fans, she said: "@nordi_babi is closing. I've loved this chapter and the journey it's taken us on but we just don't have the time to run it the way we want to.

"I love everything Scandi so this has been a dream," the company offered teething, stacking and toys for children to pull along, all made out of wood in true Scandi style.

Charley came up with the idea ten years prior to Nordi Babi's launch.
