Emmerdale's Brenda rumbled after making crucial mistake amid plan to frame Wendy

Emmerdale's Friday night episode saw Brenda Walker exposed after almost killing Dan Spencer.

Dan suffered an allergic reaction after eating one of the wraps she had made at her café.

As Dan tried to reach his phone to get help, he slipped over and injured his back with him now fearing he may never walk again.

After an ambulance was called, Dan was rushed to hospital and treated after going into anaphylactic shock.

It was confirmed in the latest episode that Dan, who has a nut allergy, had eaten a wrap containing a salad dressing made from almond milk.

Brenda hadn't informed Dan that she hadn't checked the ingredients, despite him telling her of his allergy.

He ended up having a severe reaction as a result, and Brenda remained quiet over her involvement.

As Kerry Wyatt questioned what he'd eaten that day, Brenda even tried shifting the blame on to nurse Wendy who had given him some painkillers that same day.

But this is where her cover-up plan completely fell through.

As Wendy found several people grilling her over the pills, she quickly insisted they were only paracetamol.

It's then that she made an important point that led the trail back to Brenda being the culprit.

Wendy reminded Kerry that Dan's allergy is to nuts, and that it was more than likely that food would have triggered it.

Brenda should have thought a bit more about who she was ditching the blame on and the reason, given the pills were not going to have been the cause.

Wendy went on to confront Brenda for her comments, before revealing she knew she'd given Dan a wrap.

But the questions all got too much for Brenda and she asked Wendy to leave, clearly rattled.

Emmerdale airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV.
