Emmerdale's Bill Ward back on TV in new role after Tesco delivery driver job

Former Emmerdale star Bill Ward is back on TV following a spell as a Tesco delivery driver during the height of coronavirus lockdown.

Bill, 55, played James Barton in Emmerdale and villain Charlie Stubbs in Corrie. He actually even had a brief spell in EastEnders - well soapland is a small place afterall.

During lockdown, Bill, like many actors, found working opportunities limited and took a job as a delivery driver for Tesco.

At the time, Bill said: “Towards the end of May (2020) it started to become clear that the pandemic wasn’t going away. And if anything it was going to get worse.

"That's when you look at the rest of the year ahead and think, 'Okay, I need to make a living this year; how are we going to do that as a family?'.”
