Choosing to close the pub for the day, a hooded man then took his chance and using a crowbar opened the till stealing all the money.
However, the intruder knocked Charity over after she caught them in the act, leaving her unconscious in a pool of blood.
Later. at the hospital, a distraught Chas revealed to Paddy that Charity has a bleed on the brain.
However, a nurse in today's episode told Ryan that Charity had recovered and could return home today - leaving fans shocked by the quick turnaround.
Jordan tweeted: "A bleed on the brain and back home tomorrow who is writing this utter nonsense!!!!"
Jamie said: "They throw people out of hospital quick in #Emmerdale."
Others questioned how bad Charity's injury actually was.
Doreen said: "For someone who’s got a bleed on the brain, Charity has soon sussed it was Cain."
A second wrote: "I think there was more of a chance Brenda having a bleed on the brain from when Rhona whacked her; than the little shove Cain gave Charity!"
Emily added: "The most pathetic push ever, there’s no way that would of knocked her out let alone cause a brain bleed."
And William said: "That shove on Charity wasn't enough to bruise her arm never mind hard enough to make her fall over and knocker herself out for hours."
