Emmerdale star Paula Tilbrook has died at the age of 89.
The actress, who was born in Salford, played village gossip but adored neighbor Betty Eagleton for 21 years in the ITV soap before she announced her retirement in 2015.
The news was reveled by theatre website The Stage on Wednesday afternoon which confirmed that the beloved actress died in December.
Paul last appeared in Emmerdale during a cameo episode in the Christmas episode in 2015.
As well as appearing in the Dales, Paula also starred in 11 episodes of Coronation Street in 1977 as Estelle Plimpton and appeared again later as Olive Taylor-Brown in 1978 and 1980.
She also starred in Last Of The Summer Wine and Brookside.
