Emmerdale's Bernice makes huge change that makes fans rejoice

Emmerdale viewers were left thrilled tonight as Bernice showed off a new style.

Samantha Giles who plays Bernice on the ITV soap has been forced to wear a wig after returning to the show, because of covid rules.

Under the coronavirus measures the cast have been forced to do their own hair and make-up and because Bernice's hair is so perfectly coiffed producers decided it would be easier for Samantha to wear a wig, but it hasn't been a hit with fans, with many of them thinking it looked ridiculous.

Speaking about the wig Samantha said: "I had to have a wig really because I've got very, very, very thick, coarse, frizzy hair and I can't do it myself. Bernice is a hairdresser, so obviously she is not going to be seen looking anything less than having a coiffed look."

Samantha went on to add that she's looking forward to the hair and make-up teams taking over once again.

She said: "It all sounds like we're being precious but if you have got a difficult or emotional scene, you don't want to be fannying about checking your blusher or your hair or that your collar's tucked inside your coat."

And tonight finally saw Samantha ditch the wig and have her natural hair styled in Bernice fashion, following the return of the hair team to Emmerdale.

Bernice walked into the cafe on Wednesday night's episode and many fans rushed to Twitter to mark the wig's demise.

Jordan Phelps said: "At least Bernice's wig is finally gone."

Swalk said: "Bernice has finally ditched the awful wig!!!"

asupergav said: "Bernice with real hair!!"

nixyrae said: "When you realise Bernice’s wig is finally gone in #Emmerdale It's a miracle."

*Emmerdale continues at 7pm on ITV tomorrow
