Emmerdale's Ben Tucker's sad secret exposed as he's confronted over lies

Emmerdale's Ben Tucker was exposed on Thursday night, as his secret appeared to come to light.

The character has been very obviously hiding something from those in the village, including his boyfriend Aaron Dingle.

In the latest episode of the ITV soap, it emerged he was lying about where he lived - having told Aaron he shared a flat with his flatmate in Hotten.

But his details stored at his workplace revealed he did not live there, with a different address noted down instead.

Ben also continued to put off Aaron's hopes for some time alone in the kayak shed, with different excuses every time.

Emmerdale viewers finally learned what Ben Tucker was hiding from boyfriend Aaron Dingle (ITV)

What viewers learned at the end of Thursday's double bill though as that Ben appeared to be homeless.

As he told Aaron he had just arrived home and was about to make tea, he entered one of the work huts and said "home sweet home".

The room was set up with a makeshift bed and other things which made it clear he was currently staying there.

So why is Ben homeless, and does he even have a flatmate?

It also sparks the question of who does live at Ben's apparent home, as listed on his work information.

Earlier in the episode, Ben was on the phone to someone who accused him of not caring about them.

Ben was heard pleading with them before rushing off to meet them, pretending to Aaron there was an issue at the flat.

It wasn't clear at first why Ben was adamant they could not get cosy in the kayak shed, until fans learned that's where he was staying.

But viewers will have to stay tuned to find out who he was speaking to - and whether it has any relevance to the mystery man he was seen with in the pub recently.

There has to be more to his apparent homelessness and him constantly rushing off, and all will soon be revealed.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
