Emmerdale actor Asan N'Jie won't be appearing in tonight's episode of the ITV soap, despite the bubbling family drama surrounding his character Ellis.
The actor was sacked after making threats to kill Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas at the TV Choice Awards.
Following reports of his shocking behaviour, and the release of the Mirror's exclusive video showing Asan threaten to stab the Hollyoaks star, ITV launched an investigation.
An ITV spokesman told Mirror Online: "Emmerdale suspended Asan N'Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.
"ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan's contract has been terminated with immediate effect."
Meanwhile Asan issued a grovelling statement describing his behaviour as "completely unacceptable and very much out of character".
"I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.
"I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this."
During this evening's episode, Ellis' mum Jessie is stunned when she hears that Al has arranged for her to have a phone interview for a job in Dubai.
Later, Marlon appears and Al quickly realises that Jessie hasn't been entirely honest with him and enjoys 'letting slip' that she is considering the job.
Marlon is fuming when her arrives back home to see Jessie having an interview.
The pair become embroiled in a bitter spat and he ends up storming off.
However, unless there are other changes to the schedule, Asan will be appearing in the soap at the end of the week.
