Emmerdale actor Asan N'jie has been sacked from the ITV soap after a shocking brawl with Jamie Lomas at Monday night's TV Choice Awards.
News of their heated altercation between the soap star and Jamie, who plays Warren Fox in Hollyoaks and appeared on I'm a Celebrity last year, quickly spread on Tuesday, with show bosses saying they'd launched an investigation into the actions of the actor, who plays Ellis Chapman.
And then on Wednesday afternoon it was confirmation that N'jie had been axed from Emmerdale for good, after a video, obtained by The Mirror , emerged showing him shouting "“Do you think you are a f****** big man? I’m going to f****** kill you.
"I’m going to f****** knife you.”
A statement from ITV spokesperson read: "Emmerdale suspended Asan N'Jie yesterday pending further investigation into an incident at a central London hotel on Monday night.
ITV executives have met with him this morning and as a consequence Asan's contract has been terminated with immediate effect."
Issuing his own statement, N'Jie said "I sincerely apologise to everybody who has been affected especially Jamie Lomas, the whole Emmerdale team, our audience, ITV, my family, and the organisers of the TV Choice Awards.
"I am devastated, accept full responsibility for my actions and I am determined to learn from this."
Witnesses reported that the pair has to be separated by security during the bash at London's plush Hilton Park Lane hotel, with Hollyoaks actor and Jamie's fellow I'm A Celebrity jungle mate Malique Thompson-Dwyer also stepping in.
N'Jie was nominated for Best Newcomer at this year's TV Choice Awards, after earning great reviews for his character's role in a tough storyline centered around knife crime.
He lost out on the award to young Eastenders' actress Kara Leah Fernandes.
