Emmerdale star Aaron Anthony has reportedly quit the soap after bosses launched a race probe against two of its biggest stars.
Insiders claim the Ellis Chapman star is so furious about the alleged behaviour against one of his cast members that he's decided to leave.
It comes after Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins became embroiled in claims that a mixed race actress' accent was mimicked.
The stars, who play David Metcalfe and Victoria Sugden, have categorically denied any allegations of wrongdoing.
And it's claimed that Matthew and Aaron rowed after the alleged incident.
A source has now told The Sun : "Aaron is bitterly angry about this situation and he has had to be persuaded to come back to Leeds to film his scenes in recent months.
"He has done some filming over the last couple of weeks, but the understanding is that those scenes will be his last.
"He has been very vocal in his opinions about the allegations and about the way in which the enquiries have been handled by the bosses. He now feels his position on the show is untenable."
An ITV spokesperson previously told The Mirror: "While we would never comment on individual cases, Emmerdale has robust policies in place to deal with any allegations brought to our attention and take the appropriate steps."
In November, it was reported that Matthew and Isabel hadn't filmed any scenes since September, although they had not been formally suspended by show bosses.
A source said at the time: "It is common knowledge on set that Matthew and Isabel are not filming at the moment following a complaint.
"This all came about after a conversation between them and another actress — during which the alleged remark was made.
"An accusation was also made that the actress’s accent had been mimicked."
Aaron is said to have brought the incident up with Matthew, resulting in a "tense" conversation between them.
Emmerdale viewers were left confused when Matthew and Isabel's characters suddenly disappeared from the soap. Their absence was explained as them going off to visit Diane.
ITV did not want to comment. The Mirror has also reached out to Aaron's representatives.
