Emmerdale fans have seen Bernice Blackstock struggle with a number of health implications of late including hot flushes and other strange symptoms.

And the fan favourite, played by Samantha Giles, is about to finally discover why she hasn't been feeling herself as she gets her diagnosis, awkwardly from her ex and village doctor, Liam.

Viewers have seen Bernice struggle with her day-to day life as of late as the symptoms become all too much for her, upcoming scenes will see Bernice struggle with her emotions in an altercation between Mandy Dingle and Bear after she takes offence to a well-meant joke.

Bernice later confides in Bob, played by Tony Audenshaw, as she opens up about how she has been feeling. Bob advices her to seek medical help but his concern leaves her even more emotional. Gabby, (Rosie Bentham), later causes even more anxiety when she unintentionally plants the seed that Bernice could be suffering with dementia.

A perhaps more realistic but equally unwelcome suggestion comes from Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy), who suggests her symptoms seem to align with the menopause, however, this does not go down well with Bernice who is less than impressed.

Later, viewers see a reluctant Bernice visit local doctor, and unfortunately for her, ex-partner, Liam (Jonny McPherson), who confirms it is in fact menopause. Bernice is livid and refuses to believe it as we see her struggle to contain her rage once more. But how will she react to the diagnosis, will she do something stupid?
