Emmerdale pub The Woolpack facing permanent closure after disastrous event

The future for Emmerdale’s iconic pub The Woolpack looks ever more bleak following a disastrous event at the village boozer.

As Emmerdale viewers will likely know, the Woolie’s landlords cousins Marlon and Chas Dingle have been fighting financial difficulties in recent times.

Fans will soon see Marlon, played by Mark Charnock, host a barbecue in an attempt to boost the pub’s coffers. Although, disaster strikes.

“Marlon and Chas are absolutely on their knees,” explained actor Mark, talking to Inside Soap.

“If they’re sued by Moira and Matty this could be the end of the Woolpack as we know it.”

Emmerdale writers have been influenced by the coronavirus pandemic in Woolpack storyline and have tried to sum up some of the financial difficulties our hospitality sector has faced.

“I love this story because of the pandemic it feels very real,” Mark said.

“Owning the pub is Marlon’s dream but right now he deeply regrets it.”
