Emmerdale star Louisa Clein will be leaving her role as paedophile teacher Maya Stepney.
The actress will be leaving after the dramatic climax of her character's dark grooming storyline.
Evil Maya was finally arrested this week following an explosive showdown with ex-boyfriend David Metcalfe.
Her manipulated victim Jacob watched in horror as Maya was taken away in the back of a police car.
Emmerdale viewers have been praying that the paedophile teacher will get her comeuppance - and it seems they will get their wish.
An insider told The Sun : "Louisa’s had fans glued to their seats with her brilliant performance.
"They’ve been wondering what the future might hold for Maya and savouring the potential for her to continue to feature.
"But it seems they’ll be disappointed. Her arrest for grooming Jacob spelled the end of a chapter on the soap — for Louisa and Maya."
Louisa's role was always intended to be for the grooming storlyine and there were never any plans for her to stay on once it had finished.
She was reportedly given a big send-off by her castmates last week and has finished filming her final scenes.
Her character will stay on-screens for a few more weeks as filming takes place a while in advance.
Maya was finally arrested on Tuesday night's Emmerdale - but it's not the end of her story yet.
She was waiting for Jacob in the cricket pavilion and got a very unwelcome surprise when her ex-boyfriend David rocked up.
Seething David claimed the police were on their way and Maya was going nowhere until she told him everything.
Defending herself, Maya claimed: "I'm not a pervert David. I love him and he loves him back."
Maya managed to push past David but was quickly surrounded by the police, who showed up just in time to arrest her in front of Jacob.
She was questioned by the police and insisted that she was in fact the "victim".
This led to the arrests of Priya, Leyla and Tracy in a shock twist ending.
