Emmerdale is welcoming a new character to the soap who will be involved in a whirlwind romance with a soap favourite.
Martelle Edinborough will be seen playing Suzy in Emmerdale. As the Metro reports, Martelle will kick off a romance with Vanessa - who is played by Michelle Hardwick.
Next week, viewers will see the pair become flirtatious with things developing further. Martelle said the characters hit it off immediately.

The acting star said: “I think Suzy is pleasantly surprised with Vanessa, she’s got something about her that Suzy likes and she’s not quite sure what as yet. But there is definitely an attraction there. So there is potential for something romantic.”
The new Emmerdale character is described as confident and fun. She runs her own business also.
Martelle said: “She’s confident and gregarious and fun to be around. She doesn’t take any nonsense at the same time and she likes to get what she wants. She’s a really fun character to play so I’m looking forward to all the different stuff that’s coming up for her.”
The newcomer lives in Leeds and was delighted to bag the role in Emmerdale. Martelle explained: “I literally dropped to my knees and let out a few expletives, as you do. I was absolutely over the moon and overjoyed.
“What actor from Yorkshire doesn’t want to work on Emmerdale? I think it’s one of those dream jobs. I am from Yorkshire and I live in Leeds and it’s just on my doorstep, it’s perfect!
“My feet haven’t quite touched the ground yet. I’m still on this massive cloud high up in the sky, but it’s been going really, really good.”
IMDb lists Martelle, like many other Emmerdale stars, has previously appeared in Coronation Street. While, she’s also enjoyed roles in Hollyoaks, Doctors and Cold Feet.
She’s also actually briefly appeared in Emmerdale previously. Martelle played a doctor in Emmerdale back in 2018.
