Emmerdale bosses have teased an upcoming betrayal between father and son that leaves one character out in the cold in the new year.
Nate’s lies quickly catch up to him which life turns upside down as he finds his recent infidelity exposed.
His betrayed dad Cain Dingle is left fuming after Nate swore that nothing had happened when he didn't return home one night.

And things don’t seem to be getting better as Cain is already riled up over his son Kyle's deadly ordeal and his feud with Al Chapman, Nate's confession and his betrayal of fiancée Tracy, who recently welcomed their baby daughter.
As Nate needed help when he got kicked out he headed to his dad's for a place to stay but was left devastated Cain reaction as he he told him he can't stay there and refuses to help him.
Not in a forgiving mood, he kicks Nate out and tempers soon reach boiling point leading to a showdown.
Nate is heartbroken, especially as he and his dad are finally in a good place, and he soon leaves.
The fact Nate promised he was a changed man after the Moira scandal and then not only cheated on Tracy, but lied about it when Cain asked for him to be honest, he's not in his good books.
Cain had accused Nate of playing away the night in question, but Nate swore he was innocent and begged for his help to reunite with Tracy.
So now to know that he lied to his face, Cain probably thinks his son hasn't changed at all.
Whether he will forgive him further down the line remains to be seen, but he's got a lot on his plate at the moment so Nate should not hold his breath.
Now Nate will be left without a roof over his head which is not the best start to 2022 for Nate or the Dingles.
