Emmerdale moves to new time slot in schedule shakeup

Emmerdale will change its air times next week (May 30) in a schedule shakeup that will also see Coronation Street split into five episodes instead of three.

As Emmerdale fans will know, in March, ITV announced it would be changing its soap opera schedule in March, moving Coronation Street to hour-long episodes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm, while Emmerdale will move to a 7.30pm slot.

However, Emmerdale will return to its 7pm slot next week. Coronation Street will air each weekday for 30 minutes from 7.30pm.

From 8pm, Britain's Got Talent will air for two hours on ITV. Viewers can tune in to watch the live semi-finals every night next week.

The schedule change means there also won’t be a Thursday hour of Emmerdale. So, Emmerdale fans will miss out on 30 minutes of Emmerdale that week. It also means there'll be just 2.5 hours of Corrie in total, as opposed to three hours.

It is not yet known when the BGT final will take place, though it may happen during the Jubilee bank holiday weekend. However, in some years the final has taken place the following week - so viewers may have to wait until June 11 and 12 to find out who the winner is.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub (apart from the week beginning May 30)
