Emmerdale love triangle twist as mysterious new villager's secret is exposed

Emmerdale is set for a shock love triangle twist as Gabby and stepmother Laurel discover that they have been dating the same man.

Well, this is going to get awkward!

Gabby has tried her best with online dating but hasn't been very successful. Just when she's about to give up, an attractive man named 'Chris' pops up and her mystery date turns out to be a familiar face - Kit.

The next day, Gabby is left red-faced when Laurel arrives at Home Farm and quickly rushes her out of the door - just moments before an oblivious Kit heads down the stairs.

Later that week, Laurel suggests they go on a double date with their new lovers and Kit realises he's been caught in his lie.

He convinces Laurel that he's cooking a meal and later slyly sends an apologetic message to Gabby for running late.

Laurel makes a pass at Kit and suggests he stay the night and he weighs up his options.

Gabby is happy when a message from Kit comes through and she responds quickly.

The pair enjoy a meal at Home Farm and, having already eaten, Kit is bursting as they chat away.

But as Gabby leads him upstairs while they're kissing passionately, Laurel arrives...

What will she say?

It comes after the ITV soap's executive producer Jane Hudson teased huge scenes ahead as it marks 50 years on television.

The soap boss reflected on the past five decades of the show, while teasing what is ahead in October - including "epic stunts".

Speaking about the big milestone and what was ahead, Jane said: "Emmerdale celebrating 50 years is a huge achievement and to be the executive producer at such an exciting time is an honour.

"For five decades, Emmerdale has kept its audience entertained with incredible storylines and memorable characters.

"We want to make sure our 50th birthday month is a treat for all our loyal viewers and has them gripped to the edge of their seats as the stories unfold."

*Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV
