Emmerdale legend Rodney Blackstock tipped for I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here stint with Ant and Dec

An Emmerdale star is being tipped to fly over to Australia to take part in I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.

That’s thanks to the ‘stunning’ Australian accent aired in a recent episode of the hit ITV soap. Our colleagues at the Daily Star report Rodney Blackstock’s Aussie accent was far from convincing.

Rodney, played by Patrick Mower, 82, recently returned from Australia just before Jimmy King’s van crash which killed bad boy Paul Ashdale.

Emmerdale viewers saw Rodney refer to children as ‘ankle-biters’ and the toilet as the ‘dunny’. It left fans wondering whether actor Patrick is preparing for a stint in the Australian jungle for I’m a Celeb.

Fans expressed their views on social media.

One wrote: "Rodney presenting I'm a Celeb in 2021. Look out Ant and Dec."

"Rodney should definitely do @imacelebrity!" another said.

While, others weren’t as impressed.

One viewer said: "Rodney is getting really irritating with his Australian phrases in a fake Australian accent. Jimmy's only seen Crocodile Dundee, no other Aussie show then."

Someone else asked: "Why does Rodney suddenly think he's Australian?"

We’ll keep you posted on whether the actor is off to the jungle for the ITV reality TV show.
