Emmerdale Kim's new flourishing friendship branded 'weird' by fans

Emmerdale fans seem to be in love with a new unexpected friendship that is forming.

Tonight's episode of the soap saw Kim chatting with her cleaner, Lydia, who asked how Kim's business trip was.

Kim admitted that she hadn't actually been on a business trip and confided in her as she said: "It wasn't a business trip. I realised I made a bit of a mess of my life."

She told her that Will didn't like the way that she was treating people and she realised that he was right.

Lydia was a listening ear for Kim as they had a little heart to heart and Kim compared their relationships as she said that she hoped Will would move things on when she returned back home but his mind was on other things.

She said to Lydia: "I thought that you'd struck it lucky with Sam too, he always seemed so devoted to you no matter what. You're the last people I ever expected to split up."

Lydia replied: "I hope it's not terminal but it's not looking good at the moment."

Kim said: "If it can happen with you and Sam then I might as well give up."

Lydia gave her some words of encouragement and a bit of advice and Kim tried to take it all on board from her new friend.

Fans on Twitter seem to be surprised by the new found friendliness from Kim, but they loved it.

Lily said: "Quite like Kim and Lydia’s scenes. A weird kind of friendship but it works #Emmerdale."

Vicky said: "See I like it when Kim is nice like this. Her and Lydia are great #emmerdale."

Sal said: "I’d rather watch this friendship between Kim and Lydia flourish than any toxic affair or murder. Beautiful besties #Emmerdale."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITVHub with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm
