Emmerdale horror as Kim drugs Dawn - but risks another character's life by mistake

Emmerdale aired horror for Dawn Taylor, as her looming meeting with a social worker almost took a dangerous turn.

Dawn is trying to get her son Lucas back into her care, after he was recently taken back to his foster parents over a situation at home.

But Dawn is back on track and eager to prove to everyone that she can be a great mother.

Now possibly isn't the best time for her to be starting a war with Kim Tate, amid her hopes for Lucas to come home - and in the latest episode of the ITV soap things took a scary turn.

Kim is against Dawn's romance with her son Jamie, and the two women had a showdown of sorts where Dawn was threatened to leave Jamie alone or else.

The Tate matriarch promised to cause trouble for her if she did not do as she said, while Dawn refused to end things.

Later at the pub, Kim drugged Dawn's orange juice to make her sick in revenge - knowing it would likely ruin her chances with the social worker.

But in a twist, Dawn didn't drink the drugged juice - and someone else did.

Her dad Will was seen stumbling home leaving Dawn shocked and believing he was drunk (ITV)

Her dad Will was seen stumbling home leaving Dawn shocked and believing he was drunk, only for him to deny he had drank any alcohol.

Will collapsed on to the sofa complaining the room was spinning, leading to Dawn fleeing before the social worker could enter the house and see him.

Harriet, his ex, soon headed to the house where Will explained he felt "terrible" and as though he had been poisoned.

Insisting all he had was the orange juice and that it must have been spiked, Harriet was left asking who would want to hurt Dawn.

She had the answer to this though when she realised her dad really wasn't drunk, and was in a bad way after drinking the clearly drugged juice.

Dawn declared it must have been Kim as she had threatened her hours before - and Will promised he would get payback on her for drugging him, but also threatening his daughter.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
