Emmerdale grooming victim star Joe-Warren Plant, 16, in relationship with older woman, 22

The actor who plays Emmerdale grooming victim Jacob Gallagher is in a relationship with a 22-year-old woman.

Joe-Warren Plant, 16, has been dating stunning Nicole Hadlow for about 18 months, and regularly shares pictures of their sun-drenched holidays online.

Last year he and the pretty model jetted off to Mexico and Ibiza, and celebrated their one-year anniversary in August 2018.

"1 Year Today. I look forward to making even more memories with you right by my side. I love you," he captioned a cute shot from the occasion.

On his page, the clearly smitten star calls her the "best person" and "my girl", captioning one snap, "Love you".

Viewers of the ITV soap have watched his character, 15-year-old schoolboy Jacob, be groomed by predatory teacher Maya over recent weeks.

Maya (Louise Clein) is dating Jacob's step-dad David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden), but has coerced Jacob into having a sexual relationship with her.

And actress Louise - who worked with children's charity Barnado's ahead of the storyline - admitted the scenes have been uncomfortable to film.

"It is difficult, but Joe Warren-Plant is a joy to work with and he's so mature for his age. He's been on the show for such a long time and has been working with adults since he was eight years old, so he's very happy around adults. You wouldn't necessarily pin him as 16 when you met him," she told What's On TV.

"Of course it's awkward, but the scriptwriters are very sensitive to that, as are the directors and producers. We're all very conscious of not making it (the scenes) sexually titillating. Any form of intimacy doesn't need to be sexy. It's about the implied emotional intimacy, which is the creepy bit in a way.

"It's got to be that way. And Barnardo's were very happy when we told them the way we were going to play the story through.”
