Emmerdale favourite fears the chop from ITV soap

An Emmerdale favourite has hinted she could be axed from the ITV soap.

Karen Blick, 46, who plays Lydia Dingle in Emmerdale, has confessed she doesn’t know what the future holds for her character.

Our colleagues at The Mirror report she opened up when discussing her relationship with partner Sam Dingle and whether she could see them both heading up the clan at some point.

"I would love to, there are no guarantees with this job, we all know that you never know when your time is up," Karen said.

"It’s brilliant to be in Emmerdale, but to be in Emmerdale and to be in the Dingles is a double whammy it's brilliant.

"There's always something going on, there's always a scam or there's some scandal, or there's some drama.”

Karen also said she was delighted to play a strong female character in such a popular TV show.

She said: "But it's great, it's great to play a nice, strong Yorkshire woman in Emmerdale. It's good to have that wide representation in the Dingle women as well, there's lots of different qualities that are seen within the female characters."

In terms of exits, she’s not the first Emmerdale star who has opened up about being chopped. In recent times, we’ve reported on show stalwarts Danny Miller, who plays Aaron Livesey, and Dominic Brunt, known to millions as Paddy Dingle, make similar admissions.

As always, we’ll keep you posted about the comings and goings from the soap.
