Emmerdale fans 'work out' Sandra's real motive and it's not about money

Emmerdale fans think they have worked out Sandra Flaherty's ulterior motive.

Recent episodes have seen Liv's mum trying to come between her daughter and her husband Vinny Dingle. Last week, viewers saw Sandra target Vinny on the long-running soap amid her cruel plan against her own daughter Liv, which she laid bare as an attempt to steal all her money and tear apart their marriage in the process.

Scheming Sandra has also set about trying to make Liv believe there could be something going on between her husband and her best friend Gabby Thomas.

Monday's instalment of Emmerdale saw her plan to make Liv catch the two alone together, after pretending she had "forgotten her purse", so they had to return to the house. When Liv and Sandra walked through the door, they saw Vinny and Gabby hugging on the couch.

Gabby had only hugged Vinny to congratulate him on his love for Liv, but it didn't look that way to his wife and her mother. Sandra was later seen talking to someone on the phone, about needing to get her hands on Liv's money.

And while many fans have aired their dislike for Sandra, some think there may be more to her scheming.

Taking to Twitter, Thedragon18137 said: "okay this is WILD but hear me out – what if Sandra is Vinny’s biological mum? And that’s really why she’s trying so hard to split him and Liv up, because they’re related? I know she's after Liv's money but it could be a good twist"

Rachel said: "'I'm just a loving mother' ... what if Sandra is Vinny's biological mum? Would make sense as to why she's trying to split them up. Plus she always keeps saying how much she loves Vinny". Dion simply said: "Sandra is a terrible mum".

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
