Emmerdale fans 'work out' Jamie Tate's fate as he's 'killed off' in horror crash

Emmerdale viewers think they know the truth about Jamie Tate's fate, after a surprising twist at the end of Thursday's episode.

Jamie's fate is currently not known, with it heavily hinted he has been killed off after a car crash.

Kim Tate's son was secretly fleeing the village when he narrowly avoided colliding with an oncoming vehicle, driven by Chas Dingle.

Jamie wasn't paying attention to the road as his phone rang, causing him to swerve into the path off the other car.

While both managed to pull away from each other, Jamie lost control of his car and ended up crashing through some bushes.

As he came out the other side, he screamed as his car ploughed into a huge lake off the side of the country road.

But it has not been made clear whether Jamie is alive or not, while Chas' fate is also not known.

The episode ended just as the car hit the water and immediately sank, as the immediate seconds after the crash saw no movement and complete silence.

Viewers will have to stay tuned to uncover his fate, and find out whether he really is dead.

But many fans tuning in to the episode on Thursday night were left suspecting what would happen next, following the cryptic ending.

Many suggested that he would do a Harold Bishop from Australian soap Neighbours, and reappear in a few months if not years - as plenty of others shared their theory that he was still alive.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
