Emmerdale fans spot 'sneaky' newcomer's 'next victim' after helping boot Naomi from village

Emmerdale fans are feeling concerned for one of the soap's most loved characters after they 'worked out' a 'sneaky' newcomer's next victim. During the latest trip to the Dales on Thursday night (July 6), viewers watched as Naomi Walters's left the village after getting some money from her pal Vinny Dingle.

Karene Peter bowed out of playing vicar Charles Anderson's long-lost daughter in the ITV soap after a year of the role after she finally snapped and quit her job at The Woolpack.

Naomi was encouraged by her estranged grandfather, Victor, to take advantage of Vinny's windfall and while she didn't seem keen, Victor spoke to Vinny and told him Naomi was in debt, leaving kind-hearted Vinny wanting to help.

Victor once again got involved in his grandaughter's life, suggesting she spend the cash on herself rather than pay off her debts. And after she angrily quit her job at the Woolpack over accusations that she'd been sneaking free pints to her grandfather, she returned to his suggestion that she ditch the village.

She was then seen with her bags packed by her unimpressed dad and a hurt Vinny as she explained she was going to Ibiza with her friends.

But Emmerdale fans couldn't help but point out that Naomi's earlier outburst at the pub appeared to have been triggered by newcomer Gail Loman, who told Chas Dingle that she was slipping free drinks to her grandad.

Gail didn't help matters as she told Chas about what Naomi was up to (ITV)

After the confrontation, Gail, the girlfriend of Charity's son Ryan, said to Chas and Marlon: "I’m dead sorry. If I knew it would have kicked off I’d have kept schtum," before she was snapped up to replace Naomi as Marlon's assistant.

And viewers of the ITV soap think Gail's scheming was intentional and it has left them fearing for Marlon, played by Mark Charnock. @emmerweekly2860 tweeted: "Oh no. I bet Marlon is Gail’s next victim. I can see it now."

@sarahsmi79 said: "I think Gail will soon be after Marlon." While @Chris1968E concluded: "I'm thinking tho that Gail is a sneaky beakie."
