Emmerdale fans spot huge blunder as killer Meena manages to escape justice

Emmerdale serial killer Meena Jutla managed to escape justice this week - but fans have spotted a huge blunder.

In scenes airing last night, Meena managed to get away from all the residents of the village, after holding her own sister Manpreet Sharma and Vinny Dingle hostage. After escaping herself, she was chased through the woods as she tried to flee.

She managed to get away and hitchhike a lift with a lorry driver called Tommy, after she claimed her boyfriend had turfed her out of his car after they rowed as he had cheated on her.

Meena even went as far as to tell the driver that her name was Manpreet.

However, fans of the ITV soap were left frustrated as the police, who were called to the barn by Vinny, only managed to send two officers with torches out into the woods. They questioned why the soap's police wouldn't get a helicopter into the air.

"Pretty sure the police would have a helicopter out and more than two officers with little torches looking for her # Emmerdale," one viewer wrote on Twitter," as a second added: "Where's the Police helicopter #Emmerdale."

A third wrote: "Think it’s time they deployed the West Yorkshire police helicopter to find Meena #Emmerdale."

"Emmerdale script writers have obviously never heard of police helicopters, drones, dogs, search teams etc etc," a fourth shared.

A fifth penned: "pretty sure the police would have a helicopter out and more than two officers with little torches looking for her."

Meena might have made her way to Scotland, but this isn't the end of her story as bosses previously teased there would be a "judgement day" for the serial killer, who has murdered four people.

Meena said her name was Manpreet (ITV)

"I think it's fair to say that judgement day for Meena is coming. But whether she'll get away with murder you're going to have to wait and find out," executive producer Jane Hudson teased to The Mirror and other press.

"There are still some more twists and turns to be had in this story. Some that you probably won't see coming but I think we can all agree that Meena can pretty much do anything."

She added: "But yes, Meena's judgement day is coming. It won't play out quite as you expect, there will be a lasting effect on a lot of the villagers but I think within the next few months, Meena will get what's coming with her."
