Emmerdale fans spot clever trick actors use to disguise lockdown blunders

Emmerdale viewers have spotted the way the cast members are cleverly disguising their lockdown transformations.

The ITV soap is currently battling continuity issues as some of the current scenes were filmed before lockdown, and some were filmed after.

The soap already aired its special lockdown episodes, and now rather confusingly it has gone back in time to before the pandemic.

The gap in filming has meant that some actors look dramatically different midway through one scene, and it has not gone unnoticed.

Nate's hat may have been disguising the actor's lockdown hair growth (ITV)

Jurrell Carter, who plays Nate Dingle, was seen in a hat on Wednesday's episode, presumably to hide his hair growth as hairdressers are still not open so he has not had a chance to get it back to the same length it was before the lockdown.

One viewer tweeted: " #Emmerdale Nate wearing a hat because he's changed his hair during lockdown".

"Glad #Emmerdale eps are somewhat back to normal. Quite funny we're just brushing over Jamie & Nate's changed hair," added another.

Jamie Tate appeared to lose weight and get a tan midway through the episode (ITV)

"Nate has definitely got the Aaron cap on! . I wonder how long for #Emmerdale," pondered a third.

Nate is not the only character to have come under scrutiny for continuity issues.

The police officer who was speaking to Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) has also been singled out by viewers who noticed his beard grew mid scene.

And Jamie Tate, played by Alexander Lincoln, also appeared to lose weight and become more tanned midway through Monday's episode.

One fan wrote: "Can't help noticing which scenes were filmed before lockdown. Had to giggle at the policeman's beard suddenly growing!"

Another added: "Jamie got a nice tan and that Cop’s beard grew real quick in the space of a few minutes".

A third joked: "Looks like the stress has made Jamie lose weight. #emmerdale."

* Emmerdale airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV
