Emmerdale fans spot blunder as Mary spotted paying for Woolpack round with Tesco Clubcard

Eagle-eyed Emmerdale fans have been left baffled by a soap blunder on Friday night's episode.

Icon Mary Goskirk was spotted paying for drinks in the Woolpack with a Tesco Clubcard. Fans were absolutely baffled when they saw Bob hand Mary a glass of wine, only for her to be holding her Clubcard, having presumably already used it to pay.

Louise Jameson, who plays Mary Goskirk, seems to have navigated the best way to combat the cost of living crisis. Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to point out the blunder, with some branding her method of payment as ‘cool’. Others have also admitted their foolish mishaps with cards.

Lynn Langton said: "Bless she’s probably a bit tipsy." Anthony Yates added: "I've tried to clock in and open the staff gate with my bank card a few times instead of my staff pass"

Rosemary Rowell said: "I tried to put mine in the cash point machine couple of times." Gina Lawler wrote: "We’ve all been there."

Having come out to friends and family as a lesbian in heart warming scenes last year, Mary is now on the hunt for a lifelong partner, but all is not going to plan, so far. Date number one was with cyclist Joy, who it turned out had absolutely nothing in common with her.

Date number two ended up being a no show, meaning Mary was left to get very drunk on her own. Despite date number three getting off to a rocky start, a pep talk from Charity and Bob helped Mary get back on track and be herself and the date went swimmingly.
