Emmerdale fans spot blunder as episode appears to 'skip to future'

Emmerdale fans were left confused tonight as the current storylines got back on track, following the lockdown episodes.

Over the past three weeks the ITV soap has showed six lockdown episodes showing how the characters coped with the coronavirus pandemic.

But tonight saw the soap pick up where it left off, and fans were quick to notice some errors.

Viewers were confused by the timeline at first and presumed that the lockdown episodes took place in the future.

Fans complained that the storylines were now "outdated" as they tried to remember what had happened previously.

And characters met in cafes and hotel, despite that being against the current coronavirus rules.

Josh said: "This is weird. We’ve had weeks of lockdown episodes but now they’re in the cafe and now hotels ?"

@realgmg67 said: "Hotel open????"

James Gray said: "Last week, Emmerdale was on lockdown, this week their not Anyone? I'm confused."

Chloe said: "So what was the point of the lockdown episodes if now it’s back to normal and there’s no acknowledgement of the lockdown."

And @ldniscalling said: "I’ve never seen the cafe so quiet. There’s no one even serving!"

*Emmerdale continues at 7pm on ITV on Wednesday
