Emmerdale fans speechless at Mandy Dingle's hilarious musical proposal with sex toy

Emmerdale 's Mandy Dingle, played by Lisa Riley, had viewers utterly amazed with her incredible Grease performance on Monday's episode.

Mandy rented out the pub and proposed to Paul (Reece Dinsdale) via the power of song as she dressed up and sang You're The One That I Want, alongside Bob Hope and Lydia Dingle.

While no one can claim to be pleased she proposed to evil Paul, who is secretly gambling and beating their son Vinny, Mandy's performance won high praise.

Some viewers were baffled by the scene and called it the strangest proposal in soap history, but others praised the comic relief and Lisa's vocal skills.

Many were also taken aback by the fact that in lieu of a real ring, Mandy held a very different type of ring - a sex toy.

One tweeted: "Have not laughed that hard in such a long time - think my neighbours are wondering if I've lost the plot!! What a trio Mandy, Lydia and Bob are - think they should start a cover band and perform in the Woolpack!"

"Have not laughed that hard in such a long time - think my neighbours are wondering if I've lost the plot!! What a trio Mandy, Lydia and Bob are - think they should start a cover band and perform in the Woolpack!" giggled another.

"Loved it! I waxs in hysterics and singing along. My dog looked at me like I was mad.. Love having you back on Emmerdale. Poor Mandy. Feel so sorry for her. Hope Paul gets his cumuppence," penned a third.

A fourth added: "Ok, so I’ve not watched #Emmerdale for a v long time but lockdown has me crazy, did I just see Lisa Riley propose to some bloke with a c**k ring? Either I’m way off the mark or ITV prime time has got saucy".

Lisa took to Twitter and told her fans: "The response to the proposal has been incredible, I’m so glad it’s given everyone such happiness and such a good giggle.

"Which is what the country needs now".

Paul accepted the proposal before hurrying off pretending he was off to find a ring as Mandy did not have one.

But he and Vinny got into a row and Paul brutally beat Vinny once again, kicking him while he lay unconscious on the floor.

Fans begged Vinny to tell his mum the truth as one tweeted: "Vinny really needs to tell Mandy about Paul's violence. If he can do it to his son, he can very easily beat Mandy too #Emmerdale ".

"I am sick of Paul beating Vinny. Vinny needs to tell Mandy. #Emmerdale," added another.

* Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
