Emmerdale’s Amelia Spencer is set to receive a visit from social services this week after Samson Dingle cruelly turned on her in the latest episode of the ITV soap.
Amelia (Daisy Spencer) has been left worn out after giving birth to the surprise baby during the soap’s special 50th anniversary episodes.
But now baby Esther’s future on the soap has been thrown into question amid a sudden crisis.
During scenes on the soap this week, Samson sank to a new low and called social services, pleading with them to take Esther into care.
Emmerdale fans were left labelling the character ‘evil’ and lamenting the fact he didn’t die in the 50th anniversary storm, after he made the last-ditch phone call at the end of Wednesday’s episode.

However, others need an apparent blunder in the move as Samson appeared to have the social services line on speed dial on his mobile phone.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Amazing that Samson had the number for Social Services stored in his phone, what a stroke of luck.”
Another joked: “Yeah....we all have Social Services on our phones at the touch of a button....” as a third asked: “I mean what 18 year old lad hasn't got social services on speed dial?”
The heated moment came after Amelia’s dad Dan Spencer ( Liam Fox ) had reassured his daughter that things will get better as Amelia struggles to find a babysitter – before Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) found a solution.

Lydia piled baby Esther onto dad Samson Dingle (Sam Hall), who was left fuming at being left holding the baby.
In scenes later on the soap, Amelia was stunned when Samson suggested putting baby Esther up for adoption.
Samson cruelly reminded Amelia of her abortion plans and was annoyed when his scheming backfired.
Left utterly distraught, Amelia confirms she knows what’s best for Esther – to stay with her family.

Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) met with Amelia at Jacob’s Farm and reassured her she’s a great mum.
When he then told Amelia he had set up a cot in his room for the baby, Amelia was touched by the sweet gesture.
The final scenes on Wednesday saw the drama of the storyline ratchet up, as Noah and Samson had a heated confrontation over the situation, leaving Samson determined to take action.
