Emmerdale fans set for two weddings in coming months - and return of top star

Emmerdale is set for at least two weddings in the coming months.

And a familiar face will make a surprise return to the ITV soap for one of the ceremonies.

Viewers will see Charity Dingle, played by Emma Atkins, and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) prepare to walk down the aisle in A-Team costumes this week.

Emmerdale executive producer Jane Hudson has revealed that shortly after the confetti has settled it will be time to bring out the wedding hats once more.

She said: “There’s another wedding – at least one – before we get to the end of summer. And we’ll have a familiar face returning, which I think the audience will be absolutely delighted with.”

One of the big days is expected to be the wedding of Gabby Thomas ( Rosie Bentham ) who recently got engaged to nanny Nicky (Lewis Cope).

It was recently revealed that Nicky is the son of Caleb and secret grandson of Frank Tate. But Hudson revealed that the nanny has another shock that he is hiding from his fiancé.

“There is still something else to find out, not all the secrets have been revealed yet,” she teased.

Viewers will also see a special episode following the continuing recovery of Paddy Kirk (Domini Brunt) after he came close to suicide.

And viewers could see him getting back together with his former love Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).

Hudson added: “It’s going to be very special and poignant and it’s continuing that story about men who don’t find it easy to talk, and the help and support that’s out there.

“We follow Paddy’s journey as he tries to co-parent with Chas, which is not easy; what happens if new relationships start.

“And we know that Paddy and Mandy have a history, but is Paddy ready for a relationship and if he is, is Mandy the person to start that relationship with?”
