Emmerdale fans saddened for Laurel as she discovers Jai's lies

Emmerdale fans were gutted for Laurel as the extent of Jai's lies came to light.

Jai (Chris Bisson) has been lying to Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) for months about his financial situation.

He ran into money troubles after The Hop, which he is part-owner of, faced having to pay £50,000 for breaching a health and safety suit following the bridge collapse.

Not knowing how to deal with the debt, Jai took out a loan in Laurel's name without her knowledge.

But in tonight's episode, all came to light finally and fans were saddened as the reality hit Laurel.

Fearing she'll lose her home, Laurel decided to talk to the bank about getting a mortgage for it - but she was told it was not possible as she already had taken out a large loan.

She spoke to Jai about her issues, not knowing it was him at the root of it all.

He tried to reassure her that everything would be ok and that she didn't need to escalate it as she suggested going to the police.

She was convinced that she had been the victim of identity fraud.

It was then that Jai confessed to her that it was him who took out the loan.

Fans on Twitter were devastated for Laurel.

Pilch said: "And for the 1st time ever jai has been honest.... kick him out laurel... i never have liked jai. #emmerdale"

Another user said: "Can't wait till tomorrow night to see what laurel gonna say #Emmerdale"

Dan said: "Finally Jai fesses up to Laurel !!! #Emmerdale"

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV and ITV Hub with an additional episode at 8pm on Thursdays
