Emmerdale fans are convinced Ethan Anderson's mother is going to make an appearance in upcoming scenes, after his dad Charles called her, furiously demanding to know why she had secretly been in contact and ordering her to stay away.
But what Charles does not know is it was actually Meena using a burner phone, pretending to be Ethan's mum and arranging to meet up with him - breaking his heart when she did not turn up.
Manpreet Sharma told Charles that Ethan had been in contact with his mum, leading to the father and son having an emotional conversation where Ethan admitted he had always been desperate to know more about her, but was shut down by his father.
As Manpreet and Meena chatted in the pub, Meena left to use the toilet and Manpreet snuck a look at the phone she had claimed she found - realising what was going on and confronting Meena about the fake messages to Ethan.
Meena then revealed it was all part of her master plan to reunite Manpreet and Charles - who used to be lovers - and it seemed to have begun to work, as Charles heaped praise on Manpreet for her honesty.
But ironically, she could not muster the courage to tell him the truth - that it had actually been Meena that Ethan was speaking to all along.
However, things will soon unravel as Charles was then seen making a call to Ethan's mum - who he had previously claimed he was not in contact with - and demanded she leave Ethan alone.
Viewers think this phone call will be a baffling one for Ethan's mum, as she will likely defend herself and reveal she has not been in contact with him, sparking questions as to who Ethan was actually speaking to.
One viewer tweeted: "Ethans mum turns up, wait you didn’t call me #emmerdale ".
"We all know Ethan's mum will show up and it'll all come out, so predictable #Emmerdale," added another.

A fourth raged: "WTF?! Charles knows where Ethan's mum is? well he has her number at least. why does Charles want Ethan's mum to stay away?
