Emmerdale fans 'rumble' Ben's secret and link to mystery character after cryptic call

Emmerdale fans think they have newcomer Ben Tucker sussed, with many believing they have 'worked out' his secret link to the stranger seen in the pub earlier this week.

The character has been acting weirdly for weeks, and in the latest episode he was taking a mysterious phone call.

He's hiding something and doesn't want boyfriend Aaron Dingle to know what is going on.

Earlier in the week he was shown hiding from a drunk man in the pub, clearly not wanting him to see his face as if he knew him.

It seemed he was avoiding him, even when Aaron clashed with the man in question.

But later on, he was shown putting the person into a cab and sending him on his way.

Unlucky for Ben, Aaron's sister Liv Flaherty caught him and decided to drop him in it on Thursday.

He instead made Liv seem like she was mistaken, suggesting he was simply helping a drunk customer get home.

Viewers were not convinced by this and neither was Liv, who accused him of lying in front of a confused Aaron.

Fans are now suspecting Ben does know the man, and he might be his dad (ITV)

Later in the episode, he suddenly got a phone call that clearly panicked him.

He brought his plans with Aaron to a halt then and there, claiming he needed to leave early.

Making up a leak from the pipes at his flat, he hurried off and claimed he would return tomorrow.

Fans are now suspecting Ben does know the man, and that they might even know who he is.

Viewers suggested the drunk man was his father, after Ben recently opened up about his alcoholism.

One fan said on Twitter : "Why is Ben lying? If it is his dad that drunk guy why didn’t Ben just admit it?"

Another agreed: "You've got the wrong idea Liv. I think that man could be Ben's father."

A third said: "Ben has got to have some dark, dodgy secret - no-one can be that dull."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
