Emmerdale fans rejoice as Liam takes down killer Meena as she's finally exposed

Emmerdale fans were thrilled on Thursday night, as the first of two episodes of the ITV soap hinted the end was in sight for serial killer Meena Jutla - while it was later confirmed this was not the case at all.

Meena had tricked Liam Cavanagh into believing she was hiding away in a barn to have some time to herself, before claiming she was seeking help for her mental health.

But of course she was lying to him, as she had done for months.

What she wasn't banking on though was Liam returning to the barn, and finding out what was really going on.

Meena had kidnapped her own sister Manpreet Sharma, as well as Vinny Dingle, after both became suspicious about her dangerous behaviour.

Now they know she is a killer and has killed a girl named Nadine, as well as Liam's daughter Leanna, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker.

Meena had decided to kill her latest victims too, tying them up in the barn before letting it fill with exhaust fumes from the van Vinny drove up there last week.

She halted her plan though, believing she could make a third victim out of ex Billy Fletcher, only for Liam to show up instead.

After their chat outside, Meena returned to the barn and was furious to see Vinny was still alive.

In that moment though she was finally caught out, as Liam had secretly entered the barn and was armed with a giant piece of timber.

Looking mortified, he couldn't believe what he was seeing as Meena was equally shocked by the arrival of her boss.

As she questioned what he was doing, Liam quickly swung the timber and knocked out Meena before she could act.

The camera then showed Liam wielding the weapon over a lifeless Meena, who was unconscious on the ground.

Viewers hoped this was the moment Liam got revenge, and that perhaps Meena would be arrested and facing her comeuppance.

But many viewers were furious to learn she had managed to escape, with the storyline not over yet.

One fan said: "YOU ARE NOT TELLING ME that Meena’s gonna escape and get away with it all! P**s off maaaaannnnn."

Another tweeted: "OH F**K OFF EMMERDALE."

A third commented: "Omg I can’t anymore of Meena. Do the programme makers want us to switch off ? I’m getting very close."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
