Emmerdale fans puzzled by Liam blunder as he admits attacking Meena in front of police

Emmerdale's Liam Cavanagh was far from discreet, as he confessed to a serious crime during the latest episode of the ITV soap.

Fans know that Liam pushed killer Meena Jutla off a bridge, deliberately, as she goaded him about the murder of his daughter Leanna.

Meena killed Leanna in the same way a year ago, before going on to murder Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker - while it was also revealed she'd killed someone named Nadine a few years ago.

The latest episode saw her finally charged with the murders, as well as the attempted murders of Victoria Sugden, Manpreet and Vinny Dingle.

She was also charged over the shooting of Leyla Harding, the attack on Harriet Finch, and the kidnapping of Dawn and Billy Fletcher.

But Liam was fearing he could jeopardise the whole case if his dark secret came to light.

Liam was goaded by evil Meena over Leanna's death to the point he shoved her off the bridge - but the police did not believe Meena's version of events.

Fans were convinced he was about to drop himself in it though, after making a shocking mistake during the latest episode.

Liam decided to confess all to wife Leyla, admitting he pushed Meena on purpose and meant to harm her.

But fans were left amused, as Liam did this "in earshot" of a police officer who was just yards away.

Calling out Liam's blunder, viewers mocked the moment on Twitter believing he was going to get himself into trouble.

One viewer commented: "Fgs Liam a copper is right behind you shut the f**k up!!!!!"

Another said: "Thataboy Liam, confess your crime when police are in earshot."

A third fan added: "yea talk about it when there's police around," while a fourth tweeted: "Liam dude cops about."
