Emmerdale fans predict soap favourite is about to return

Emmerdale fans believe a soap favourite is about to return after a three-year absence.

Tuesday's episode finished with an unseen person watching Gabby Thomas.

Some fans are convinced it was Jamie Tate, who was last seen crashing his car into a lake.

But others think it could be someone else, Leeds Live reports.

Joe Tate, played by Ned Porteous, left the village after he discovered soap villain Kim Tate, portrayed by Claire King, was trying to kill him.

At the time, viewers were led to believe Joe was murdered by Graham Foster.

But while we watched Graham, played by Andrew Scarborough, sob over killing Joe, and try to set up Cain Dingle for his murder, viewers didn't actually see him die.

Shortly after the scenes aired, Charley Webb, who plays Debbie Dingle and Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain, both hinted that Joe might not be dead.

It seems fans would love a Joe come back.

One viewer tweeted: "Maybe Joe Tate is coming back. Links to Kim and the Tates and he's working with Jamie and they've been watching Gabby?"

Another added: “I really hope @emmerdale will be bringing back Joe Tate. He was one of my favourite characters. It will be interesting to see him come back.”

A third wrote: "I think it's Declan who is Chloe's dad and Joe Tate is hiding in the bushes lol"

A fourth said: "It's Joe Tate spying on Gabby not Jamie"

*Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
