Emmerdale fans predict Liam and Leyla will split as he wishes her dead in ‘cruel’ scene

Emmerdale fans are fearing the worst for newlyweds Liam Cavanagh and Leyla Harding after tuning into Thursday's episode of the ITV soap.

Liam is in a really bad place as he grieves for his teenage daughter Leanna, but instead of leaning on Leyla, he's pushing her away instead.

In very harsh scenes, the doctor was seen wishing his wife dead as she tried to comfort him and offered to help sort through Leanna's possessions.

"I'm your wife, I'm just trying to make things easier for you," a concerned Leyla told Liam.

"You really have no idea have you?" Liam replied. "Do you think there's any way of making this easy? Or that I'd want it to be?"

"I'm sorry, I'm just trying to support you," she told hew new husband desperately, as he added: "You don't listen though. I've asked you for space but you keep crowding me and stressing me out!"

"I'm sorry okay, just tell me what you want?" Leyla then asked, but she probably ended up regretting her question thanks to Liam's nasty response.

"To have Leanna back!" he told her, before adding: "And if I had any choice, it would be you that's dead and not her!"

Everyone in the Dales believes that Leanna's tragic death was an accident, but she was actually murdered by evil Meena Jutla.

As Emmerdale viewers worry that Meena will strike again, they're also concerned about Liam and Leyla's future as a couple.

Another tweeted: "Liam I know you’re hurting but what you said was out of order and relationship ending words #emmerdale."

A third viewer added: "I know Liam is grieving but he shouldn't wish death upon his wife. That's really cruel #Emmerdale."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
