Emmerdale fans predict Cain Dingle and Tracy Metcalfe will enjoy steamy affair

Emmerdale viewers are convinced that Cain Dingle and Tracy Metcalfe are going to embark on a steamy affair in the ITV soap.

During Wednesday's episode, Tracy (Amy Walsh) was comforted by her father-in-law as she felt overwhelmed planning baby Frankie’s christening.

Cain (Jeff Hordley) bumped into Tracy outside her home and asked her if everything was okay as she looked stressed out.

"No, it’s all just one big disaster, the goody bags are an epic fail," Tracy moaned as the revealed it had been left to Faith Dingle to sort out.

"Listen we'll sort this," Cain told her. "My family will be happy as long as they've got a slice of cake, anything else is a bonus."

As Cain reassured his son's partner, some Emmerdale fans predicted that Tracy and Cain will become a lot closer in the upcoming weeks.

"#Emmerdale Cain and Tracey! I’m calling it ….." one person tweeted.

Another added: "No but how good would a Cain and Tracy affair be?"

"Cain and Tracy.. you'll see #Emmerdale," a third person posted, while a fourth said: "Something is gonna happen with cain and Tracy #Emmerdale."

Actress Amy recently admitted she and her co-star Jeff have also wondered about a possible romance too.

"That’s a funny question to answer when you work with Cain’s wife in real life – 'yes, I'd love to have an affair with Jeff!’” she said Speaking to The Mirror and other press.

"It’s very interesting, I love working with Jeff and I love the dynamic of those two characters.

“I did think with those scenes, I don't know about a spark but I do think they worked and I loved them when I read them, I thought they wrote really well for the two characters."

Amy added: “I’d like to see more of them together because I do think it works.

"We did joke, we wondered at one point when they were writing a couple of scenes, are they going to do what Nate did to Cain?

Who knows how Nate will react if something happens between Cain and Tracy (ITV)

“As in, is Cain going to have an affair with Nate's partner now, but as this storyline’s progressed, we’re obviously glad they didn’t do that."

She added: "I think it’s important to keep the relationships happy between not only Cain and Nate but also Nate and Tracy.

“But who knows, she’d probably like a bad boy like Cain, knowing Tracy, she doesn’t know what’s good for her, we’ll see."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
