However, he walked into The Woolpack just as Marlon was complaining about him.
So it was no surprise when he said the food Marlon cooked was once again too salty.
However, Emmerdale viewers pointed out a problem with the pub.
Many spotted that before the critic arrived and during his visit, the pub was completely empty.
Chris tweeted: "Why are they trying to bring a food critic story to an empty pub."
Sue said: "Why would a food critic bother with a grotty old pub in #Emmerdale? A pub that only ever has one or two customers!"
Ryan added: "Marlon is very paranoid for a pub that only gets a few customers a day right now."
Bryan said: "The pub gets about three customers a week so why is Marlon worrying."
Chris said: "It's a tiny country pub with no one in it apart from a few locals what is with this review."
And Roberto added: "The pub never busy, how do they manage."
