Emmerdale fans obsessed with 'missing' Liv's reason for not being in lockdown episode

Emmerdale viewers were initially confused over Liv Flaherty's lockdown situation.

The ITV soap has been airing special episodes against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.

Characters are in lockdown and following the Covid-19 social distancing advice.

Viewers have been able to witness what different characters got up to during the pandemic, with just a few cast members in each episode.

As to keep to guidelines and keep people safe, only a few people have been allowed on sets at any one time, which is why only two or three characters appear in the special episodes.

Emmerdale fans were loving the reason the character was missing from the episode (ITV)

In the latest episode, it was Aaron Dingle and his uncle Cain stuck together.

But they weren't alone, and fans were surprised to find out that Liv was also staying with them.

The only things is she did not appear on screen once.

Due to the filming conditions, only actors Danny Miller and Jeff Hordley were allowed to film the scenes as their characters.

Bosses decided to keep Liv in the scenes anyway, and the reason for her screen absence despite apparently being in the building left fans in hysterics.

It turned out Liv was upstairs the entire time, playing video games in her room.

Aaron claimed his sister was hooked to her video game (ITV)

So obsessed was she with one game, she was playing it all morning and night and not emerging from her room.

Cain called her the "invisible girl" while viewers predicted it was Animal Crossing that had her so hooked.

Taking to Twitter, fans shared their reaction over missing Liv, with one fan saying: "LIV IS PLAYING ANIMAL CROSSING WE STAN."

Another tweeted: "Liv is playing Animal Crossing. Love to see that."

A third added: "Ok look it's gonna be easy to poke fun at tonight's #emmerdale for the sudden unexplained hair do overs and why liv isn't in the episode but it's not gonna affect my views or judgement."

Emmerdale airs Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm on ITV.
