Emmerdale fans 'not happy' with Moira and Nate affair as they slam 'forced' storyline

Emmerdale fans were "not happy" as they witnessed the beginnings of an illicit romance rumble between .

The pair, who are set to have a full-blown steamy romance that will be exposed in October, were flirting outrageously in Wednesday night's episode.

As the sexual chemistry became palpable viewers complained that it was "forced" and "predictable" and that they didn't like them two together.

Coira fans fumed that Emmerdale writers were messing with Cain and Moira's marriage and begged for them to be left alone, while others said Nate and Moira were an "unlikely" match.

"Not happy with this storyline at all. Why can’t you leave Cain and Moira alone to be happy and turn them into the village power couple or something?" raged one.

"There’s no chemistry whatsoever between Moira and Nate it just seems forced and predictable," complained another.

"This Nate/Moira thing isn't doing it for me. So unlikely. She loves Cain," said a third.

One criticised: "Absolute NO to any affair between Moira and Nate. If that's the only storyline you can come up with to create 'drama' then go back to the drawing board...not everyone has to be a cheat."

Teasing the surprise romance earlier this week, Emmerdale producer Kate Brooks said: “Nate and Moira will be having a full-blown affair. It’s going to be dangerous, it’s going to be very steamy, it’s going to ruffle a lot of feathers in the village.

“Obviously Moira is married to Cain, who is the ultimate bad boy, so when he does find out it will be explosive and there will be lots of drama and ramifications for all of our characters involved.

“So it’s going to be exciting, we’re going to be along for the ride, we’re going to get to the core of why this affair has happened and the consequences to it."

Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm with extra episodes on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm
