Emmerdale fans left unimpressed by big Super Soap Week 'anti-climax'

Emmerdale fans have been left feeling a little miffed after the big Super Soap Week ended with a ‘whimper’.

Any suspense about the highly-publicised death in the ITV soap was taken away in the opening moments of tonight’s episode as it was confirmed Andrea died after the previous evening’s cliffhanger.

Fans of Emmerdale no the role murder Meena played in Andrea’s death - the character perished in a maze fire.

After the scenes aired fans, likely expecting a twist or turn, took to Twitter to state their frustration at what some deemed to be an anti-climax.

One wrote: “I was expecting something a little different to that I have to admit.”

Another added: “No messing from @emmerdal3 Andrea dead straight away.”

One said: “Well, that was a little anti-climatic and a bit of a whimper. I thought they’d draw it out a little longer.”

Another agreed: “No messing about there from Emmerdale. I’ll miss Andrea.”

Regardless of the nature of her exit, many Emmerdale viewers said they were sad to see Andrea, played by Anna Nightingale, leave the soap.

One wrote: “I’m really sad to see Andrea leave.”

Another said: “Andrea was one of my favourites.”
